This event is on October 12, 2019 10:00 am

The gates and ground displays for the Atlanta Air Show at the Atlanta Motor Speedway will open at 10:00 am. A few static aircraft will be on display in the parking lot along with simulators and exhibits. The Army Aviation Foundation will be offering rides in a Huey or a Cobra attack helicopter and a Thunderbird F-16 will be on display as part of the Air Force Performance Lab!  The concourse area exhibits and grandstands will also open at 10:00 am. The main entrance will be through Gate 12. Parking at the Atlanta Air Show is FREE with the purchase of your tickets! Plan to come early and enjoy everything there is to see!

  1. Robert says:

Can I park somewhere 1st and then buy my tickets or will there be a spot to buy them “drive up style” and then park?

    • ATL Air Show says:

No, there is no ground seating – the event is in the Atlanta Motor Speedway, so you will either have chaired seating in the preferred section or bench seating in the grandstand (general admission) area.

  2. Jason says:

My son is being recognized as a Recent Air Force Recruit, what time will that be happening and how much are tickets for civilians?

    • ATL Air Show says:

Hi Jason, the Air Force recruits will be coming out onto the field at the very beginning of the program, just about noon before the national anthem and flag parachute jump. You do need a ticket to get into the stadium, which you can purchase here on the website or on the day of the event at the ticketing gate.

      • Christine Imler says:

My son also will be recognized as a Recent Air Force Recruit but his recruiter informed him that we would be able to get into the show for free. Is that not correct?

        • ATL Air Show says:

That is correct – the air force recruits will be recognized at the beginning of the opening ceremonies around midday and then be released to head out once the ceremony is concluded. Guests who wish to watch the ceremony do need a ticket for admission.

    • ATL Air Show says:

Yes, the flying starts at noon, but gates open at 10 am so guests can come in, visit our concourse vendors and find the seat of their choice.

  3. adam says:

from 12 to 3:30 is the time of the airshow with all the flying right. was trying to figure out what time I should come. and what time does the thunderbirds perform?

    • ATL Air Show says:

Hey Adam, yes, the show is noon to about 3/3:30 pm with the Thunderbirds ending the show. If you get there in the late morning, you should be good to catch the whole show.

      • John Ferrante says:

“We don’t have any static aircrafts at this show, due to it being located at the Atlanta Motor Speedway”.

“A few static aircraft will be on display in the parking lot”.

        Which statement is accurate?

        • ATL Air Show says:

We have helicopters on site on display, but since there isn’t a runway, there’s not any airplanes on site. Hope that clarifies; sorry if it was unclear!

  4. Lt Col Tim says:

Checking to see if it is possible to apply the 50% (at the gate) discounted military grandstand pricing of $15 to an Air Force Junior ROTC unit of approximately 50 Cadets traveling from North Carolina to attend the event? Ticket sales at the 1-888 number only offered a 10% group discount and a final $25.00 ticket price.

    • ATL Air Show says:

Hi Tim, you would need to purchase the tickets at the gate with IDs to be presented for each of the cadets. Unfortunately, we must see the IDs in order to provide the discount, so there’s no way to do it virtually or via phone.

  5. Ruth says:

Are you guys offering free admission for military this year? We came 2 years ago and my husband who is active duty got in free as long as he was wearing his uniform. We are coming to celebrate our 5 year olds birthday, he turns 6 on October 24th.

    • ATL Air Show says:

Yes, Active Duty/Reserve military and guard can save 50% at the gate with discounted military grandstand pricing of $15 for adults and $8 for children 7-12 on up to four tickets per service member. To qualify for the discount, please present your military or veteran ID at the ticket window. In addition, active duty/reserve and guard attending in uniform will be admitted for free! Thank you for your service and we hope to see you at the show!

      • ATL Air Show says:

Hi Jackie, there is no additional discount for the handicap, but there is handicap access up into the stadium, with handicap and companion seating throughout the general admission area. Please see our FAQ page for more detail on the handicap access.
