The Army Aviation Foundation will perform demonstration of two Vietnam era Cobra and Huey helicopters at the Atlanta Air Show on May 16-17, 2020 at Atlanta Regional Airport – Falcon Field in Peachtree City.

The Army Aviation Foundation is a dedicated group of veteran pilots performing at various events around the country in support of our country’s military and veterans. The all-volunteer organization spends countless hours maintaining and flying these historic and iconic helicopters so the public can enjoy seeing them fly and even have the opportunity to go for the ride-of-their-life in one of them. For more info see below!

The Cobra was developed from the Huey transport helicopter and was the first purpose-built helicopter gunship to enter military service. The Cobra was armed with an M65 TOW anti-tank missile system, M197 20mm cannon and 2.75″ Folding Fin Aerial Rockets. It was the mainstay of U.S. Army attack aviation from its combat debut in South Vietnam during 1967 until replaced by the AH-64 Apache in the 1980s and ’90s. Versions of the Cobra continue to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps and the armed forces of many nations.

The aerial program is a high energy, 20 minute “up close and personal”, professionally narrated performance of legacy Army attack helicopters performing intricate, precision tactical and parade maneuvers that excite and stimulate the imagination. The program is distinctively different from other military demonstration teams.

The Army Aviation Heritage Foundation is acting to provide America’s veterans a voice with which to tell their story and the tools with which to share their legacy of service and devotion with the American public.
